Powerful Super Typhoon Doksuri Threatens Taiwan - May Hit on July 26

 


Super Typhoon Doksuri is threatening Taiwan as it churns towards the island. The storm is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (115 miles per hour), with gusts up to 225 kph (140 mph). Doksuri is expected to make landfall in Taiwan on July 26, 2023. The speed and strength might be change from time to time as it traverse the water above the Philippines.

The storm is already causing heavy rain and strong winds in southern Taiwan. Authorities have issued a land warning for the entire island, and schools and businesses have been closed. Flights have been cancelled, and ferry services have been suspended.

The government of Taiwan has urged residents to stay indoors and to avoid unnecessary travel. Those who must go outside should be prepared for strong winds and heavy rain.

Doksuri is the second super typhoon to hit Taiwan this year. In May, Typhoon Matmo caused widespread damage on the island.
